Failing to fulfill its Corporate Social Responsibility as given in its own statements the International Textile Mills is allegedly involved in launching offensive and unethical anti labor laws activities against its own employees.
It is reported that the ITL is allegedly involved in running illegal proceedings in hiring and sacking employees most of them kept on contract basis without showing their legal or confirm status as company employee, it is also identified that the management keeps the fake record of employees for SESSI, EOBI and other related affairs to avert any legal obligations and profit ration distribution among employees as per labour laws.
According to some authentic sources recently some employees of the International Textile Limited Karachi have extended their legal petition to the
Chairman National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC), Islamabad vide their
petition number 19(01)/2012 dated 03 and 18-02-2012 complaining some serious illegal and anti-labour laws activities by the present management of the said company.
Their grievances are:
^ Trade union activities are not allowed legally and freely and to avert such things the ITL has patronised its own pocket union within factory premises in Landhi-Korangi Industrial area.
^ When employees of the International Textile Ltd Karachi expressed their no confidence over the office bearers of the present CBA union namely International Textile Workers Union and elected Adil and Jabar Khan including two other employees as their office bearers the management not only push another pocket union with name of International Textile Progressive Workers Union whose all office bearers an their addresses are fake.
Meanwhile the management with the alleged involvement of some officials of the Labour Department Sindh inducted their own 5 persons in the CBA union and trying to acquire an CBU certificate from the NIRC Islamabad that is totally wrong and illegal way.
^ A newly formed trade union of the said company employees named International Textile Awami Union has been stopped by political and illegal tactics to start free labour union activities within the company for rights of working employees.
^ The management has sacked some employees Farhan-u-llah, Mumtaz, Hafeez and other from the International Textile Workers Union and International Textile Awami Labour Union while the two employees got stay order from the NIRC Islamabad and reinstated.
^ Presently the workers are being threatened by means of police complaints and threats to refrain from any trade union activity within the factory premises.
^ International Textile Awami Labour Union claims that in the presence of a local registered union no CBU certificate can be obtained legally but the management of the said company is trying to do it to deprive employees from their basic labour rights.
